Employees at all levels must be able to take active responsibility for their own environmental impact. A fundamental premise of the environmental strategy has been that all activities have an environmental footprint.
We aim for our company to have an environmental footprint that is as limited as possible. The natural environment we live in affects both our generation and those to come, influencing life and health. We recognise that environmental focus has not only become a success criterion in competitive bidding but, to an even greater extent, a prerequisite for sustainable business operations in society. We therefore believe that a targeted environmental effort is essential for the entire real estate industry. Placing environmental responsibility on the agenda at Akershus Eiendom is both natural and fully aligned with the company’s position in a sector increasingly influenced by the EU’s climate goals and immediate measures.
The development of the environmental strategy has been an important awareness process for Akershus Eiendom. We have sought to involve employees as much as possible, particularly those in Leasing and Tenant Advisory, who in their daily work are frequently engaged in environmental initiatives with tenants and property owners.
In May 2017, Akershus Eiendom was awarded the Miljøfyrtårn certification by the Miljøfyrtårn Foundation.

To advise our clients credibly on environmental matters, we must start with our own footprint. Akershus Eiendom has been Eco-Lighthouse certified since 2016. We continuously strive to reduce emissions and contract under fair and humane principles.
Our premises facilitate high use of public transport, have energy class A, and are BREEAM Excellent certified.

Our Knowledge
Akershus Eiendom aims to lead in analysing the commercial aspects of ESG in real estate. We have conducted extensive analyses and large-scale ESG surveys several times a year since 2021.
